What can you expect?
A loving farewell in peace.
If you choose euthanasia at home, I will do so with all the time and love.
I take the time and explain step by step what is happening. Your pet can be in a familiar environment, at a favorite spot, with you close by. I know from experience how difficult this farewell is and I do everything I can to make it as beautiful as possible for you and your animal.
And at least as important: you don't have to be strong. You only have to be present.
Prior to the appointment
Before I visit you, we will have a telephone conversation. To get a complete picture of your pet, I may sometimes ask for the patient record, which you can obtain from your own veterinarian. Together, we will decide whether euthanasia is the best choice for your animal or if there might still be treatment options available. The guiding principle here is always your pet's quality of life and whether we can potentially improve it. If euthanasia is the best option, we can schedule an appointment. You can ask all your questions during this conversation; there is also always room for this during the home visit.
There is also plenty of time to ask questions, and I will calmly take the time to discuss everything.
How does falling asleep at home work?
When I come to your home, we will first get to know each other and discuss everything. I will tailor the euthanasia process to what best suits your animal and your wishes. Naturally, I will discuss all of this with you in clear language so that there are no surprises. I cannot make this decision any less sad, but I will do everything I can to make it as peaceful and loving a farewell as possible. Aftercare
It is wise to start thinking about what you want to happen to your pet after its passing. There are various options, such as burial, cremation, or destruction. You can find more information under the aftercare tab. If desired, I can advise and support you in this matter.
